SureMap

Egypt's population is growing rapidly, but natural resources such as water and land suitable for settlements and agriculture are limited, while others, such as renewable energy sources, are not yet readily accessible. To combat these problems, there is a need for specialists in "sustainable resource management" with interdisciplinary training in civil, water, electrical, electronic and agricultural engineering. In order to meet this need, SureMap is developing appropriate courses of study at the 4 Egyptian universities to train highly qualified specialists for future problems. In addition, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) will be developed as open educational resources (OER) to make the missing knowledge freely available to everyone.
